The American Public Power Association (APPA), based in Washington, D.C., is the service organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities. Collectively, these utilities serve more than 46 million Americans. APPA was created in 1940 as a nonprofit, non-partisan organization to advance the public policy interests of its members and their consumers, and provide member services to ensure adequate, reliable electricity at a reasonable price with the proper protection of the environment.

Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC)

The Caribbean Electric Utility Service Corporation (CARILEC) is an association of electric utilities, suppliers, manufactures and other stakeholders operating in the electricity industry in the Caribbean. CARILEC was established in 1989 with nine (9) members as part of an electric utilities modernization project funded by USAID and implemented by NRECA under a five-year "Co-operative Agreement."

 

Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, Inc. (TVPPA)

The Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, Inc. (TVPPA) is the nonprofit, regional service organization that represents the interests of consumer-owned electric utilities operating within the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) service area. TVPPA members include both municipal and electric cooperatives, and they serve more than 9 million customers in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia.

Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA)

The Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) represents the interests of Minnesota's municipal electric, gas, and water utilities. There are 125 municipal electric and 31 municipal gas utilities in Minnesota. MMUA was formed in 1931. MMUA's mission is to unify and serve as a common voice for municipal utilities, and to provide them with the support they need to be able to improve service to their customers and community.

 

Texas Association of Governmental Information Technology Managers (TAGITM)

The Texas Association of Governmental Information Technology Managers (TAGITM) began in 1978 as The Texas Association of Governmental Data Processing Managers (TAGDPM). It is a not-for-profit organization that provides information systems professionals a forum for generating ideas, sharing problems, and developing solutions. Its purpose is to enable the cities, counties, school districts and appraisal districts within Texas to realize the full potential of automation benefits.
