Woodstock Hydro converted to NorthStar CIS from a legacy system that had been in place for a number of years. Woodstock Hydro is located in Woodstock, ON (pop. 33 000) about 140km west of Toronto, ON. The utility can trace its history back to 1886 when the town of Woodstock purchased a privately owned waterworks. In the 1890s, fresh water was delivered to residents from local springs through wood mains fed by gravity. The electric utility began in 1888 and supplied power to the town's 35 street lights. Woodstock has grown significantly since then. Today, it services approximately 12 500 residential and 1400 commercial and residential customers. "It is a great time to join the growing NorthStar family," said Ken Hayes, Dir. of Sales and Marketing for Harris Northstar. "State of the art tools, a powerful billing engine, and flexible reporting interfaces have made NorthStar CIS the foremost choice for municipal utilities in Ontario and across the United States. We look forward to a long partnership with Woodstock Hydro." NorthStar CIS represents the next generation of CIS software. Incorporating a state-of-the-art user interface, it provides users with business-focused functionality and ease of use. NorthStar CIS continues to deliver innovative, utility-specific features in a robust environment that is cross-database and cross-platform capable. Harris NorthStar is dedicated to giving customers value driven software with unparalleled customer support. For additional information contact: About Harris |
