NorthStar CIS Live at New Braunfels Utilities

OTTAWA, ON - 21 May 2008 -- The NorthStar division (Harris NorthStar) of Harris Computer Systems (Harris) is pleased to announce that New Braunfels Utilities is now live on the NorthStar CIS system. New Braunfels Utilities upgraded to NorthStar CIS from an earlier version of Harris NorthStar's legacy application (NorthStar 5.2.19) that had been in place there for a number of years. This successful upgrade implementation is part of Harris NorthStar's ongoing campaign to migrate its customer base onto the Java-based NorthStar CIS solution. New Braunfels Utilities (NBU) is located in New Braunfels, TX (pop. 51 066) about 48km (30 miles) northeast of San Antonio, TX. Approximately 200 people are employed across NBU's three service offerings: Electric, Water and Sewer/Wastewater. The Electric system delivers power to over 25 700 meters across 700 miles of overhead and underground distribution lines. The Water system is fed by surface and groundwater sources which meets an annual demand of 3 billion gallons of water for over 18 400 customers on the system.
